The long term care system can be confusing and stressful, especially when a loved one is not well. For almost 90 years, United Hebrew Geriatric Center has been caring for people in need, and in that tradition, we hope that our website is helpful to you. As a longtime member of the UHGC family, I am continually amazed and impressed by my colleagues and the qualities they possess. Our caring and able staff work diligently to embrace our mission of excellence and to exceed your expectations in all areas of care. We are committed to a resident-centered philosophy where people are treated with dignity and respect. We remain focused on our shared vision of creating a livable community where all generations benefit from our unique services - whether it’s our intergenerational Gerontechnology Program in which students teach our residents basic computer skills; our strong volunteer program staffed by baby-boomers; local high school students doing community service; or a working parent utilizing our on-site child day care center. All generations can enjoy a meaningful and purposeful life at UHGC. United Hebrew Geriatric Center is looking toward the future. Our next generation of care is already in the works, as we began construction on the new Lucile and Joseph Skalet Pavilion, scheduled to open in the Fall of 2008. Our new state-of-the-art facility will have the very best in design and features including private rooms, wireless internet family rooms, horticultural centers, and country kitchens in each of our “neighborhoods.” We are Building for Every Generation - for now and tomorrow. I encourage you to call us with any questions. Rest assured, we will be there for you every step of the way.
