Giving Opportunities

Through your leadership and generosity and commitment of our friends and family, we are thrilled to announce that we have succeeded in reaching our $6.8 million goal for the Campaign for the 21st Century. This success affirms that United Hebrew’s guiding principles of compassion care and the respect for the dignity of every resident are as significant today as in 1919 when the Center was founded. The Campaign for the 21st Century provided the resources for the growth of a state-of-the-art nursing and rehabilitation center.

We are very grateful to our donors and leadership for their vision and generosity. Their caring and concern for others has helped United Hebrew address core needs and driven the tremendous growth of its services while maintaining its level of excellent care.

Today, healthcare is experiencing dramatic changes. For those who need the assistance of others to live, these changes are especially relevant. Scarcity of medical resources and an exploding aging population are all dictating that we act now to secure the future of United Hebrew and the care of our current and future residents.
In the challenging years to come, United Hebrew must develop new financial resources. We are now conducting Phase II of our Campaign for the 21st Century, a commitment to raise $3 million to help meet the needs of our residents and provide for our future.

We urge all who care about our mission to make a concrete and meaningful statement of support for the ideas of United Hebrew
by responding as generously as possible.

As our population ages, the number of people needing our services is increasing. We have pioneered, developed and perfected a home-like environment of first-rate medical, emotional and spiritual care that is unique.

But our ability to meet the growing need for our care is constantly threatened by cutbacks in our country’s healthcare system. We have no choice but to adapt to these changes, but we cannot do so by sacrificing our mission. The bottom line is all about care for those who cannot care for themselves. We care for the frailest of our population. They are also the poorest of our population. They have no one else to make sure that they eat, that they are clothed and clean, that they can walk and move.

If we are not here for them, who will be?

The cost of providing United Hebrew care to residents is high. Insurance routinely refuse to pay for all of our services because they feel our residents do not need or deserve all the care we provide. United Hebrew, however, refuses to abandon any resident. We continue to provide our unique and compassionate care no matter what.
That is why we are conducting Phase II of the Campaign for the 21st Century. It will provide the funds needed to maintain our margin of excellence and strengthen the United Hebrew’s leadership role as the premier provider of healthcare services for seniors.

When completed, this $3 million Campaign will improve United Hebrew’s ability to grow and meet the needs of our residents in several crucial ways:

  • Direct Resident Care – Service to our residents is our primary goal. These funds will offset non-reimbursable expenses and help us to continue to provide compassionate care for residents not covered by insurance.
  • Expanding Specialty Programs - Our unique programs are directed at helping residents to be comfortable, to preserve and strengthen their dignity, to offer compassion and to assist their families.

Our environment is constantly changing – As the needs of our residents and the community evolves, we are committed to finding new and innovative ways to provide quality care and build supportive community so that those we care for are able to live a meaningful and satisfying life.

The success of the Campaign will allow us to grow and adapt to comfort even more of our neighbors in the coming decades. And it will help United Hebrew navigate the changes in our nation’s healthcare system while staying true to our mission.
