Documentary Screening of "Age of Champions" Friday, April 27, 2012 - 2:00 pm We Are Champions: Senior Athletes in Motion
United Hebrew of New Rochelle is proud to announce a spectacular event celebrating active seniors called “We Are Champions: Senior Athletes in Motion”. As part of this special salute to active seniors, United Hebrew will screen the Westchester premier of the award-winning documentary, “Age of Champions” on their Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Campus on Friday, April 27th at 2:00 pm. “Age of Champions” tells the story of senior Olympians - a 100-year-old tennis champion, 86-year-old pole vaulter, swimming brothers, and a team of basketball grandmothers - and their incredible ability to perform and go for the gold at the National Senior Games in Sacramento, California. The film captures the inspirational stories of these competitors as they tackle the challenges of getting older with uplifting grace, humor and optimism. In coordination with the screening we will also open an exhibit of portraits of local senior athletes. We are now accepting nominations for this exhibit. Food Glorious Food. The Lazarus Gallery of United Hebrew of New Rochelle, a campus of residences and services for older adults, brings a dynamic exhibition which features artwork that represents food in unique and creative ways. Artists explore their personal interpretations of food. They showcase their unique passion for food in its many shapes and forms with a smorgasbord of ideas which transformed the Lazarus Gallery into a large canvas of culinary colors. We thank Jodi Moise, Lazarus Gallery Curator, for devoting countless hours of her time, and bringing her expertise and superb taste to our exhibits. We also thank our Advisory Committee members, Carolyn Glickstein, Madelyn Jordon and Jessica Cioffoletti for assisting us with superb advise.
